We do not ship our cats, so if you live too far from West Virginia, we may recommend your contacting a breeder nearer your home. Not everyone visits the cattery to get a new pet, however, and I have delivered cats to distant destinations under special circumstances. If a trip to the cattery is too long, it may even be possible to meet you somewhere between our homes. Some new owners simply make the long trip to Spotted Acres. It’s a nice destination, and we enjoy visitors.

People sometimes ask why I do what I do. The answer, I suppose, is that I love animals, and I love people. From the very beginning, I became hooked on showing cats. I like the camaraderie, the excitement, the competition, the suspense, and the opportunity for new experiences. I attend a lot of cat shows, and all that travel would be really burdensome if I did not enjoy it so much. I am fortunate in having people to tend the cattery for me when I am away at shows, delivering cats, or taking a well-earned vacation.

Perhaps my greatest joy is in getting to know the people who turn to FrankLee Cattery for their pets. I love talking to visitors and making the right match of cat to people and household. A Tonkinese cat, with its whimsical behavior and strong loyalty, is not the right cat for every person and certainly not the right cat for all families. However, if you are a Tonk person—even if you don’t know it—I would love to pair you with just the right cat to enrich your life for many years to come.
