Congratulations on your purchase of the cat or kitten described below from FrankLee Cattery (“the Breeder”). You (“the Purchaser”) and your cat should have many enjoyable years together. Your cat’s health has been carefully monitored and managed since birth, and its medical records are included with your new home kit.

The Purchaser must have the cat examined by a veterinarian within five days of purchase. The Breeder promises the following:

1. The cat being purchased is in good health and is free of parasites. It is free of FIP (feline infectious peritonitis) and FeLV (feline leukemia virus).

2. If, within five days of purchase, a veterinarian determines that the cat has a health problem, the Purchaser may return it to the Breeder for a full refund of the purchase price or for a replacement animal of equal value.

3. If a kitten is being purchased, if any congenital or genetic problem is diagnosed by a veterinarian before the kitten’s first birthday the cat may be returned for a full refund of the purchase price or for a replacement animal of equal value.

By signing this contract, the Purchaser agrees to the following:

1. The cat will be provided with clean living conditions, adequate diet, proper health care, living space sufficient for comfort and exercise, and will always be treated humanely and affectionately.

2. The cat will never be sold, leased, given away, or traded without permission of the Breeder. The cat will never be transferred to any pet store, shelter, pound, research facility, or similar institution; nor will the cat be abandoned.

3. The cat will be returned to the Breeder if the Purchaser cannot adequately care for it.

4. The cat will not be allowed outside unrestrained or unprotected.

5. The cat may not be declawed, except in extraordinary circumstances, and not without permission of the Breeder.

6. If a kitten, it will be neutered/spayed before six months of age, and the Purchaser will provide evidence of the operation to the Breeder.

Note: “Refund” may in no way be construed to include veterinarian expenses, shipping, or other expenses, but is strictly limited to the purchase price. There are no guarantees or warranties, expressed or implied, other than those contained in this contract.
